bettie was born in Marion, Indiana on July 12, 1928. During WWII she located with her parents in San Francisco while still a teen-ager. She met her future husband, Billy Bownds at the wedding of one of his Navy friends, where SHE was a bride's maid, and HE was the best man.They were married over 68 years. Bettie leaves Billy, HSV, Cherry Valley her son, Stanley, (Alhambra) daughter, Carole, (Salem, Or) and 6 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren. Her Younger daughter, Pamela, predeceased her in 2009. Bettie was well-liked by her friends, and enjoyed a lifetime of family love, traveling, camping and was an avid reader. She went home to her Lord on July 9, 2013. Memorial services will be held at Weaver Mortuary in Beaumont on July 22 at 11 a.m. with internment at Montecito Cemetery. Instead of flowers, she may be remembered by donations to your local Heart or Lung Associations.
