Carol was born in Ranger, Texas, the daughter of Carmen Mendoza and Juan Zavala. With her parents, brothers and sisters shared time between Mexico and Texas. Her father, Juan, worked on the railroads which eventually lead the family to California. Carol and her sisters shared many adventures from meeting with the local Indians to finding snakes in the railways.
Carol was a member of the Immaculate Conception church congregation. In her twenties, she was part of the Mexican Red Cross. Later she fell in love and moved to Colton California where she raised four children. Carol was an amazing cook and a devoted mother.
Carol was devoted to the prayers and to the Rosary. She loved gardening, cooking, family gatherings and anyone who would let her into their heart. Carol was strong-willed and persistent in maintaining her character and her beliefs.
She will be remembered for her endless love, devotion to the family, belief in prayer and the Rosary, her beauty, her trust and Devotion to God.
Carol was extremely loving and proud of her four children, Consuelo (Connie) Mercado, Jesus Juan Espinoza Jr, Monica Marie McClure, and her deceased daughter Evangelina (Eva) Espinoza.
She is also survived by her sisters, Maria (Louis) Rivas (deceased), Anita (Annie) Gonzalez, Juana (Jenny) Guiterriz, Ildefonsa (Coy) Olivas and her brothers Nicholas Zavala, Freddy Zavala.
The Wake will be held on Thursday, January 16th at the Montecito Memorial Park & Mortuary 3520 East Washington Street Colton California 92324. The rosary prayer will begin at 6 p.m.
The mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, 10 a.m., January 17th. The Immaculate Conception Church is located at 1106 North La Cadena Drive Colton California 92324. Final burial will occur at Our Lady Queen Of Peace. At the conclusion of the services, the family welcomes all family members and friends to join us at Carol's Home at 669 East G Street Colton California 92324.
