Cheriel R. Gonzales

Growing up she was a happy little girl that was always into stuff, always digging around in mommy’s and grandma’s jewelry boxes and exploring their closets for treasures. She loved life and spending time with family and friends. In High School she loved hanging out with friends and enjoyed being in tall flags. She had a special place in her heart for animals. Her favorite pet was a feisty min pin named Spike. She loved fast motorcycles and always wanted to learn to ride them. She settled for fast rides with her friends on their bikes.

She worked at a Dental lab where she met the love of her life, “Vinny the Pooh”. She was so in love that she would ride her bike to see him at his work. She was married to Vincent Gonzales on April 7, 2001. She later worked for several years at Sharp’s Chiropractic office. Until recently she worked for the San Bernardino City Schools as a fiscal clerk.

She lived for her kids, Brittanyy, Jordan and McKenzie, whether it was taking them to sporting events or parties they were always her priority. Among the highlights are, singing Shania Twain songs in the car with Brittanyy, going driving with Jordan and watching movies with McKenzie.

Cheriel loved life and bringing laughter and joy to everyone. In her free time she loved dancing, singing karaoke and laughing with the girls. She liked playing jokes and had a silly nickname for everyone she knew. She was a courageous and strong person who was loved and cherished by all who were blessed to have known her.

Cheriel passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 after a six year battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband Vincent, daughter McKenzie, stepchildren Brittanyy and Jordan, her brothers Solomon Rout and Chad Been, her parents Rita Alvis and Elvin Rout, along with many family and friends.

We remember Cheriel as beautiful, funny and always so kind to everyone. In every sense of the word, she was an angel and can now rest peacefully amongst them.

May our love for Cheriel be our strength and may our memories of her be our comfort in the days ahead.
