Clayton MCCoy Griffin was born in Portsmouth Virginia April 15,1940 to Willie and Ethel Griffin (Both deceased).
Clayton was the youngest son of 11 children.
Clayton was drafted into the United States Army in 1963 right out of high school, where he faithfully served 25 years 6 months and 11 days.
After retiring from the Army, Clayton took 2 years off to do some gardening around the house, which he loved to do, then took employment with the United States Postal Service and retired from there after working 20 years.
Clayton was known by his family, church family and friends by various names-Daddy, Griff, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Uncle, and Brother, and he enjoyed and answered to every one of those names.
Clayton not only enjoyed bowling but was very good at it. He bowled on various teams for many years, and received many badges, trophies, watches,and rings to prove it.
Clayton was a Man of God and served and participated in his church for many years. He loved to help his Son-in-Love out with any and every job around the church and made sure things got done right.
Clayton was also known for being dapper and debonair. He loved to dress and was sharp all the time, and he made sure his cars always had a shine on them.
Clayton was married to his lovely wife, Eleanor Sue Griffin for 48 years, now deceased.
Clayton loved his family, and the greatest thing in the world to him was being around his family, and seeing his children, and grandchildren, as he would say,”do well in life”.
Clayton(Daddy, Griff, Grandpa) was affectionately loved, and will be missed dearly.
He leaves behind his daughter Ronda Zorn, Pastor Al Zorn his Son-in-Love,
Three grandchildren and two great grandchildren
Al Zorn III (his wife Bridgette and two children Zaya and Al IV),
Monique Zorn, and Christina Lerma (and her husband David),
Sisters, Brenda Masenberg and Renee Cox and many other extended family.
