On Friday, March 25, 2016, Cliff passed away at St. Bernadine's Hospital in San Bernardino, CA. He was born in Randlett, Utah. He proudly served WWII. He met his future wife, Joyce Carhart, and they married April 12, 1947. He was a fence builder and then a mason. Cliff & his family moved to Running Springs in 1967 where he started Chandler Masonry Services. He belonged to the Running Springs Lion's Club having served as president, the San Bernardino Mountains Contractors Assn. and served on the local zoning commission. Cliff also loved bowling having bowled in the Mountain Commercial League & others up to two years ago. Cliff loved his mountains, but when his wife of 49 years, Joyce, passed on June 29, 1996 he was at a loss & he had his fill of shoveling snow. He moved to Grand Terrace where he resided for 18 years, then in November 2015 he moved in with his son's family in Highland, CA.
Cliff is survived by his children: daughter Sue (Larry) Ollson of Highland, sons Rich (Sandy) of Highland & John (Joan) of Danville. He also survived by granddaughters Stacy Averhart, Laura (Chris) Rink, Lisa (Micah) Erikson & Christina (Boris) Kogan, & grandsons Jesse Chandler & Jason Chandler. His great-granddaughters are Samantha Averhart, Mikayla Rink, Amelia & Alexis Kogan. Great-grandson is Cooper Rink & many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce parents Mamie & Elbert and 11 siblings.
His service will be at Montecito Memorial Park & Mortuary, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, CA 92324
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 7, 2016 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Service in the chapel on Friday, April 8, 2016 @ 10:00 a.m. then proceed to the graveside service.
