In his final moments, David was at home surrounded by his beloved wife and family. He was surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to him.
David was born in Upland, California, to David and Rosie Lambert. After his father's passing, he relocated to San Bernardino, California, where he was lovingly raised alongside his siblings, Linda, Anita, and Richard, by his grandparents, Francis and Ralph Garcia.
His grandparents played an important role in his upbringing by shaping the man he became. Family was woven into David’s life, and the memories made with those closest to him became treasures he carried throughout the years.
David graduated from San Gorgonio High School in 1974. During those years, he met Jackie, the woman who would become his cherished wife.
After high school, David began working as a manager at Hardy’s Shoe Store, where he met many wonderful people. He later joined Stater Bros. Markets as a warehouse foreman, where he spent over 30 years working hard and sharing many memories with the people he worked alongside with before retiring in 2018.
In 1978, David and Jackie were married, beginning a beautiful journey together. This past September, they celebrated 48 years of marriage—a remarkable milestone built on years of love, partnership, commitment, and shared memories.
David and Jackie grew their family in Colton and raised six children: David, Frances, Candice, Eric, Katie, and Aaron. His family grew as his children married Vanessa, Michael, Veronica, and Emily. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Alexis, Nataley, Julian, Nicole, Makayla, Rylie, Jacob, Maliyah, Savannah, Travell, Averie, Sierra, and Sienna, as well as his great-grandchildren Victoria and Zamir.
David also cherished spending time with his nieces, nephews, godson, extended family, and dear friends. He treasured these relationships and the special moments they shared.
David fiercely protected those he loved; he never said no and always jumped right in. People would call him all the time for help or to fix things. No matter what you needed, he would always find a way to help. He loved a freshly cut yard and hanging out in his garage playing darts and listening to his favorite bands.
David was a die-hard Dodgers, Raiders, and Lakers fan. Win or lose, he stood by his teams through it all. If they were playing, you could bet David was watching or listening to the game on his radio. He proudly wore his teams’ colors, from Dodger blue to the Raiders’ black and silver. He also loved attending games and concerts, enjoying the excitement of being there in person. One of his most memorable experiences was attending his very first Dodgers World Series championship parade, a special moment he often talked about.
The Lambert family would like to thank everyone for the kind words, prayers, food, flowers, and time you’ve shared with us. Your love and support have helped us through some very hard days, and we are truly grateful.
David was blessed to have so many wonderful people in his life, and it’s comforting to know how much he was loved. Right now, the world feels a little less bright without him here, but his legacy will continue to grow with every story we tell, every memory we share, and every generation that comes after him.
Until we see David again, we’ll hold him close in our hearts.
