Diane Kathryn Smith passed away on December 30, 2024 in Ontario, California. She was the first born of Patrick and Patricia Longo on March 15, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY which was also her mother’s birthday. Diane was blessed with three sisters and two brothers who were loyal and faithful friends throughout her life. She held so many fond memories of growing up in New York and New Jersey and times spent with her grandparents Walter and Catheryn Hanlon and many aunts and uncles and cousins who she stayed in touch with when her family moved to California.
Anaheim, California is where she found God and married the love of her life, Steven Richard Smith and there they raised their two daughters.
Diane enjoyed her most recent employment as a CNA where she thrived on helping patients and she considered that her calling. She also proudly served as a docent at Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, California for eight years. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and taking them to places including presidential libraries.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Patrick and Patricia Longo.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Steven Smith, daughters, Lisa Mena (Timothy) and Katie Weaver (Chad), grandchildren, Carlton Mena, Grant Weaver, Grace Weaver, and Caleb Mena, siblings, Nancy Longo, Robert Longo (Tippi), Dawn Longo, Julie Doran (Alec), Patrick Longo (Jill) and a host of aunts, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends, but we find consolation in the hope of heaven and being reunited one day.
