Ed managed a crew for a large landscaping company called Valley Crest/Bright View for 11 years. Ed loved being a manager of a crew because he never forgot where he came from. He worked alongside everybody and was respected by all. Ed truly enjoyed the landscaping field. He owned his own business and worked alongside others like Bobby Lyon and Enrique Huesca for over 30 years.
Ed and Esther began their journey Easter 1993. Ed became a loving father to Esther’s kids and a bonus dad, they were later married on November 24, 2002. In the 90’s Bobby brought home friends and Ed quickly grew to love these bonus kids. Some of Eds greatest memories are hanging out at the swing with their large bonfires and loud music. Ed’s love for his truck began at this time. Esther bought Ed a 1966 Ford Truck for $500.00. Ed later restored it with Bobby. Many friends stepped up to help restore the 66, most people donated time and parts to the restoration cause. Thank you, Tony, at Dinosaur Tire, Steve, at Accelerations, Anne Davilla, Chuck Rich, Mike Golden and Jim Baker for all their love they gave to Ed and his truck. In the restoration process Ed chose colors that where significant, blue for colon cancer in honor of himself and white for lung cancer for his loving mother in law. Ed loved to spend time with his children coaching their baseball, he later went on to coach his grandkids as well.
Ed truly enjoyed riding his dirt bike, camping, jeeping, fishing, concerts at the park, white water rafting, C.B and the beach. Ed was never able to learn how to surf. however, he always wanted to. Ed was blessed with his dream in 2015 to meet and greet the 49’s Football team made possible by the dream foundations and the San Francisco 49’s. With special thanks to Kyle Nelson #86, Coaches Jim Tomsula and Tom Rathman for making Ed feel so special. Ed was known as Sidewinder on the C.B. and had a love for talking on them. He also spent lots of time on the Sea doos and water skiing, but his passion was riding his dirt bike. On November 18, 2019 we said our last good bye, Ed showed us his love by replacing his Adams apple with a 3D heart
Special thanks to Josie Montoya, Bobby Lyon and Mary Lyon for the love and care they gave Ed in his final days.
