She was the devoted wife of the late Thomas S. Jurgewicz. Elaine was born in Westerly, RI, and raised in Mystic, CT, by her loving parents, Manuel and Antionette Janeiro, with her sister Colleen. After marrying Tom, they moved to North Stonnington, CT, and raised their four children. Elaine is survived by her sister, Colleen Sorensen; her daughter, Cheryl Christian, and husband, Kenneth; her son, Mark Jurgewicz; and wife, DeAnn; her daughter, Karen Jurgewicz; and her son, John Jurgewicz, and wife, Deborah. She was very proud of her grandchildren: Michael, Tanya, Melissa, David, Andrea, Eric, Nick, Rebecca, Hannah, and Jessica, as well as being blessed with her sixteen great-grandchildren.
Elaine grew up helping her parents with their family business, Janiero's Variety Store in Mystic, CT. She then managed and became the owner of the store with her husband, Tom. After moving to Corona, CA, she enjoyed many adventures with Tom by her side. She even worked a few years with Tom at Cunico Corporation, but most of her time was spent around her children and grandchildren. Elaine attended Crossroads Christian Church with her family and played bunco with her daughters and friends for many years. Elaine was a loving wife, mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a friend to many. She will be deeply missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
