

Our Beloved son, brother and grandson, Erik Kempe Olinger, passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2017 in Redlands, California at the age of 30. Erik was a brilliant young man with many interests and pursuits. He was an avid gardener, an artist, writer, and student of theology. He earned his Eagle Scout award at the age of 13. Erik was a very kind and sensitive person with empathy and love for others, and an amazing ability to express himself both verbally and in writing. Recently, he had been interning at his mother's law practice in Colton, California. Erik loved the Lord with all his heart and was always striving to be the best person he could be. He enriched us all and leaves a great void. Erik is survived by his parents Elisabeth Kempe-Olinger and Bill Olinger as well as his brother Philip, all of Loma Linda, California, his maternal grandmother Erika Kempe of Hamburg, Germany, his paternal grandfather Don Olinger of Rialto as well as many other relatives and friends.
There will be a private burial at Montecito Memorial Park followed by a public memorial service at Redlands First Lutheran Church, located at 1207 W. Cypress Avenue, Redlands, California on Saturday , November 18, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. followed by a reception at the church.
