Eunice Meier Peverini was born on May 14, 1933, in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, to Juan and Felisa Meier, who served in various Seventh-day Adventist churches and schools in Brazil for several years. After her family returned to Argentina, she continued her education in Buenos Aires and then at the Colegio Adventista del Plata, where she trained as a Bible instructor and certified teacher, graduating in the class of 1952. She later earned her National Teaching Certificate in Corrientes, Argentina. To her friends and relatives, she was always known as “Nice”; little did she know that, years later, that word (in English) would be how she was described by those with whom she interacted. In 1955, she married Milton Peverini, her beloved husband and lifelong companion, beginning a partnership that would span decades and take them through many years of ministry and service. Their life together began in Rivera, Uruguay, where Milton pastored and where their first two children, Ricardo and Graciela, were born; their youngest daughter, Susana, was born after the family returned to Buenos Aires. When the family moved to the United States in 1967, Eunice devoted herself to raising and educating their children while supporting Milton's dedicated service as the speaker for the religious radio program La Voz de la Esperanza. For many years she also worked in various roles within La Voz and Voice of Prophecy, including Bible correspondence, listener services, and the gift shop. Eunice’s eye for beauty led her to decorate churches, homes, meeting spaces, and many special events, work that she loved deeply. Her home was filled with beautiful paintings, artwork, and flower arrangements.
Eunice’s greatest joy, however, was always her family and the life she built around them. She loved sewing for her daughters and granddaughters, tending her garden, researching family history, and creating beautiful, welcoming homes. Eunice devoted herself to helping recently arrived immigrant families in need by gathering furniture, dishes, bedding, and other necessities and transforming houses into warm and dignified homes. She also wrote for women's devotional books and participated in several Women's Ministry seminars and retreats. Milton and Eunice were blessed with three children and six grandchildren, and she regarded them as the joy of her life. After their retirement, they moved to Loma Linda, California in 1997. Eunice was a happy and positive person, grateful for the opportunity to guide her children in their education and Christian faith and to see them become not only successful adults, but her closest friends. Predeceased by her beloved Milton in 2021 as well as many of her closest relatives, she spent her final years living in the hope of the second coming of Christ. She spent several years under the care of her family and her loving boarding home team. Eunice Meier Peverini passed away peacefully after a short illness on September 27, 2026, in Loma Linda, California.
