Evelyn was born to Theodore and Sarah Enriquez and was raised surrounded by a close and loving family. She carried those family values throughout her life, always putting her loved ones first and creating a home filled with care, laughter, and togetherness.
She married the love of her life, Theodore J. Ornelas on May 12th 1973 , and together they built a beautiful family that remained the center of Evelyn’s world. Her proudest and most cherished roles in life were becoming a mother and later a grandmother. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.
Evelyn worked as a bank teller for many years, where her warm personality and friendly smile made lasting impressions on coworkers and customers alike. She was a proud high school graduate and carried herself with grace, kindness, and quiet strength throughout her life.
She found happiness in life’s simple but meaningful moments. Evelyn loved tending to her garden, surrounding herself with flowers and nature. She enjoyed trips to San Jose, especially when they included one of her favorite treats — burnt almond cake. She had a sweet tooth, a love for the color purple, and treasured the little things that made life beautiful.
Music was another great joy in Evelyn’s life. She was a devoted fan of Barbra Streisand and deeply loved gospel music, especially listening to the powerful voices of a gospel choir, 60's and 70's funk music. Her faith and music often brought her comfort and peace.
Evelyn will also be remembered for her special personal touches — her butterfly pins and her writing pens, small items that reflected her gentle spirit and thoughtful nature. Those who knew her will always remember her warm smile, her caring heart, and the way she made people feel loved and welcome.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Theodore Ornelas; her mother Sarah Enriquez, her children, T.J. Ornelas, Kevin Ornelas, Stacy Ornelas, and Stephanie Ornelas; and her daughter-in-law, Monique Ornelas. She was a proud grandmother to Emiliano Ornelas, Alex Ornelas, Ava Ornelas, and Sarah Ornelas, who brought her endless pride and happiness.
Evelyn is also survived by her siblings, Yolanda Campos, Lorraine Aldama, Steve Enriquez, and Teddy Enriquez.
She now joins in eternal rest her father, Theodore , and her beloved grandparents, Genevive Madrigal Enriquez, Maria Pedroza, Cipriano Pedroza, and Manuel Enriquez Sr.
Evelyn’s love for her family, her gentle heart, and the beautiful memories she created will live on in all who knew and loved her. Her life was a reminder that the greatest joys come from family, faith, and love.
Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind — like butterflies that remind us of beauty, transformation, and everlasting love.
