Born Francisco Vasquez Castillo on March 10, 1930 to Manuel Castillo and Luz Vasquez in Indio, Calif.
Frank was the seventh of 11 children born to Manuel and Luz Castillo (8 boys, 3 girls).
Frank began school in Indio, Calif., and then his family moved to Thermal, Calif., where he finished school in the 6th grade and began working full-time to help support the family.
When Frank was 18 years old, he met a 15-year old girl named Gloria Garcia who was just two months shy of her 16th birthday.
Frank and Gloria were married on October 7, 1949 in Yuma, Ariz.
Frank and Gloria made their home in Colton, Calif., and lived there for 70 years, until his passing in 2020.
They had two children: Robert (1950) and Sally (1951) before Frank was drafted to serve in the U.S. Army.
Frank bravely fought in the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged in 1953.
Following his service, Frank and Gloria welcomed two more children: Frank (1956) and Rosemary (1958).
Frank got a job at Alumax in 1968 and worked there as a long-distance truck driver and paint line worker before retiring in 1993, after 25 years of service.
Frank and Gloria enjoyed their eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Throughout their 71-year marriage, they took many trips, bonded with their children and grandchildren, and created countless memories together.
