

Husband, Father, Grandfather
To his family, Generoso was a loving husband, caring father, and a thoughtful grandfather. Despite some life's hardships, Generoso was able to provide his family with a decent and prosperous life as he was a self-made man, a jack-of-all-trades, hardworking, optimistic, and selfless. His kindness and mellowness everlasted on as he welcomed his sons-in-law in the family
As his name implies, Generoso was a generous grandpapa to his grandson. Aside from making old-school wooden toys, miniature animals, and even up to building playground sets out from scratch, he also pampered his grandson with love and care through the years
The Middle Child
Generoso was born on December 9, 1943, the middle child of 11 children to Angelina Sanceda Pelena and Cipriano Protacio Pelena, at Oton, Iloilo City, Philippines
Also known as "Gener, Genet, Gene" by family, relatives, and friends, his life was filled with joyful laughter, adventures, perseverance, and endurance
Generoso is survived by his wife Florita, daughters Leah, Liza, and Rhoda, sons-in-law Mark and Erwin, grandson Earvin Rainier, siblings Jesusa, Arturo, and Ramon, sisters-in-law, and nephews and nieces
The Selfless Provider
In his career, Generoso held positions in clerical, construction, telecommunication, and electronic technical support field
- As a young adult, he worked as a Station Manager at Radio Communication of the Philippines, and was assigned in Victorias, Negros Occidental, Balayan, Batangas, and Angeles City, Pampanga
- In the early 1970's, he briefly accomplished construction work at Carlton Construction in Agana, Guam
- Later, during middle part of 1970's, he worked as a Seaman and held the position of First Class Commercial Radio Telegraph Officer in Piraeus, Greece
- Towards the beginning of 1980's, while he continued on to be a Seaman, Generoso was trained and started to work as an Electronic Technician at different companies consisted of Chios Navigation Company and Phillindo Shipping Corporation both in Piraeus, Greece, and later on at Matthews TV and Appliances in San Francisco, California
- After working for 15 years as an Electronic Technician at Casio Phonemate in Torrance, California, Generoso retired in the year 2006, but continuously relished his part-time job at Video and Audio Center at Lawndale, California, and had gladly accepted repairs or troubleshooting work from family and friends at home
A Good Friend
Generoso, through the years, gained friends both from church and neighborhood, and the old ones...he had kept in touch with. He was genuine, thoughtful, and sincere. Although he is known by many as a comedian, he is just but a simple and sentimental man easily overjoyed with the simplest "thank you's" he receives from friends whom he had cooked for and given his specialty dish, freshly-harvested vegetables from his backyard, or souvenirs brought from his vacation in the Philippines. He always gives a helping hand, and most of the time, is generous to those who are in need
A Faithful Servant
Through the years of being a member in the Church of Christ/Iglesia Ni Cristo, Generoso upheld in him the teachings and commandments of God. He served as a Finance officer in his late 70's, and had actively participated in many church gatherings
The Creative Artist
As being multi-talented as he is, from being able to play the piano and guitar, being a singer, being a cook, and doing woodwork for his grandson, Generoso is gifted with the art of sculpting. His masterpieces showcased his passion, resilience, patience, but most of all had defined his love and dedication for the Church
