Geneva K. Switzer ‘Neva’, born June 7, 1919 in Glendora California passed away November 17, 2011 from complications due to Alzheimer’s disease. She moved to San Bernardino when she was ten years old, and resided here her entire life. She graduated from San Bernardino High School and San Bernardino Valley College and worked for San Bernardino County Hospital for thirty-eight years.
Neva loved her church ‘Calvary Baptist Church’ and was a member for seventy-years. She also loved all of the church members including and especially the children. She was a gifted and caring Sunday school teacher for fifty-years. She was also a loyal prayer group member that did a lot of charity and community work. Her devotion to her family, church, and belief in Christ is what defined her. She was a wonderful person and a great example of how to live your life through Christ.
Neva was a member and past president of The Native Daughters of the Golden West for fifty-years. She enjoyed being on a bowling league sponsored by the county, and enjoyed singing and music, especially church hymns. She also loved arts and crafts which all could see in her home with holiday decorations and in her Sunday school classroom.
Neva’s greatest gift was to give her life to raising her three nieces, when they came to live with her at ages five and two. Neva was always the loving and selfless care giver to all, to her mother, great grandmother, uncle, and nieces. And so on to their children and spouses, until the end when it was our pleasure to care for her.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 28, 2011 between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00 p.m., also at Montecito Memorial Park.
We the family feel that Neva would not want us to be sad but understand that- She had heard the voice of spirit, and freed from this world- She will see another order where the end is another beginning.
