The Stevenson and Buxton famiies have been forever connected through the beautiful friendship that Bro Gerald Buxton and Berl Stevenson (my grandfather) have shared. They've been best friends for over 50 years. I've been blessed to be touched through the years by the life and ministry of this great man and his beautiful wife. What a team they are! Thank you for the precious heritage of faith that you have left for us. We honor you today and your preaching, teaching, and example live on in the lives of those you've spent a lifetime investing in. Thank you. We love you! Just inside that eastern gate.....

I can remember elder Buxton since I was a young child living in Riverside CA, attending pastor Lee Davis' church. Nearly every church anniversary I would either hear Rev. Gerald preach or see him on the platform. Then, as a young adult a few years, I didn't see him. What a happy surprise it was when I moved to San Diego and began my new chapter in the Lord, attending his son, pastor Steven Buxton's church! I am so honored to have had the elder's influence in my life and I appreciate the legacy I now enjoy in his children, grandchildren and now great-grandchildren! Not to forget elder Shirley Buxton, his beautiful wife. What a mighty woman to complete and compliment the gift that was his life! Rev. Gerald Buxton will be missed. God bless this beautiful family.

I attended New Life Academy as a student and Rev. Buxton was my hero. I spent many years attending the school and was even baptized by the Buxton Family. I had the honor to attend a Buxton family Thanksgiving a few years ago and I was treated just like family. The times we had that night were special and I'll never forget them. I love all the Buxton's with all my heart.
