On Wednesday October 8, 1969, Guadalupe Martinez was born to Roberto & Esperanza Martinez in the city of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Guadalupe was the first born of three siblings. As the eldest of three, she was at times, the caretaker for her siblings and like a mother to her youngest sibling while her parent where hard at work.
Lupe or Lupps as many of her close relatives and friends called her, grew up in the city of San Clemente California. This is where Lupe found her passion for working with young children. Lupps always strived to do the best at whatever projects she was working on She loved spending time with all her family and friends she was an inspiration to many. Lupe made it her goal as young adult, to make a positive change in children’s lives by giving them the education that they had a right to.
By committing herself to the goal she set forth Lupe graduated from San Clemente High School. Right out of high school Lupe began her training with early childhood education by working as a teacher’s aide in a classroom setting and also working at an extended day care. Lupe was gaining a lot of experience working in these positions, however she wanted more. So as Lupe worked for the CUSD in the Early Childhood education Department, she also put herself though Junior college where Lupe Graduated from Saddle Back Community College. Lupe at this point became a Pre-School Teacher at Las Palmas Elementary School. The School in which Lupe herself went to as a young child. Lupe touched many young children’s and parents lives when she became a teacher. She was always so excited to see her Little ones as she called her Pre-Schoolers. Lupe was not done yet she knew there was more to be done, Lupe started her rapid career as Pre-School teacher to becoming a Resource Teacher who helped implement the daily class and school curriculum for the entire Capistrano Unified School District Pre-School Programs. She spent many years in this position, then became a Supervisor and then Finally Lupe Made it as the Director of All the State Pre-Schools For the Capistrano Unified School District. Here is where Lupe touched the lives of many families, by making sure her Pre-School programs had enough State Funding to provide education for all those that seek it and wanted it. During her Climb to Director of the State Pre-School Programs, Lupe received her Bachelor’s Degree From HOPE UNIVERSITY. Lupe Showed many people that Education is an important part of life, However she also showed us you can achieve the goals you put ahead of yourself by working hard and not allowing anyone tell you can’t make it happen without the proper education.
Lupps Will be greatly missed, but never forgotten! She made an impression in many people’s lives, and she will always be remembered for her smile and non judgmental affection she showed others.
