I used to like to watch the San Pasqual Academy band when they would perform in the Escondido area.  Little did I know I would become a member of that band and have Mr. Hampton as my Director.  Kind of a dream come true to a young guy of the time. He was dynamic in my opinion.  The year after he left SPA, we became a traveling band and I still kept him in mind while I was playing solo music on my tuba.  Donald Sceville -'75 (Escondido, CA)

Mr. Hampton was an angel to me in so many ways when I was at SPA. I will always remember him as a man who cared, who stood for what was right and who loved expression through song.  All my love to he and his family.

Hal will be remembered as a caring mentor.  He encouraged and challenged me musically and spiritually.  I was so glad to be able to track him down a couple of years ago and visited with him by phone and exchanged some recordings and memories.  Marge thank you so much for sharing Hal with us especially during the New Dimension years.  Kip and Cerise my heart is with you this weekend.  We did a song titled "He that overcomes shall stand"  Hal's intro of verse from Rev  about overcomers stays with me still   and I look forward to the day when we will stand together as overcomers. Mr. Hampton held many titles for me as I blipped across the screen of his life in 1971-1972 at San Pasqual Academy.... he was my boss, my choir director, my bus driver, my mentor, my anchor, but most of all he was a friend!  I am confident to say "Mr. Hampton, I'll see you in the Morning!

Mr Hampton was at San Pasqual Academy for many years and touched the lives of many students...he will be missed.

Hal was both a valued colleague and a good friend. His years as an educator were appreciated by his students in pointing them always to God.  Thanks to his family for sharing him with us all.  He left great memories and we will miss him.
