

Born in Stettler Alberta Canada, she was the eldest daughter of the late Charles and Fern McCarty, of San Marcos, California. Hazel graduated from La Sierra University, with an associate’s degree in Secretarial Science.
Hazel is survived by John Parrish, her husband, daughters Carolee Zaniefski and her husband Chet Zaniefski, Cindy Muinos and her husband Jose Munios, grandsons, Jordan Thunquest, Sean Thunquest, Andrew Muinos and his wife Brittney Munios. As well as her Stepdaughter Becky Watson and her husband Clint Watson, Heidi Parrish wife of late James Parrish and grandchildren, Ben Watson, Sarah Watson, Stephanie Kya and her husband James Bond Kya and Chris Parrish. Brother-in-law Dr. Harold Wallar and his wife Carol Wallar, nieces Dr. Connie Dunn and her husband Dr. David Dunn, Allison Bland and her husband Edwin Bland. She is also survived by former spouse Dr. Robert Link and his wife Helen Link.
In additions to her parents Hazel was preceded in death her sister Ella Mae Wallar, stepson James Parrish and granddaughter Elizabeth Parrish.
Hazel lived for the past 16 years in Beaumont, with her husband John. She worked as an office manager in several dental practices, including the practice of her first husband. She truly enjoyed working as a secretary in the Loma Linda University church office, where she met her husband John through a common friend in the church office.
Hazel and John owned time shares which afforded them to travel to places across the country. They traveled to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, England, Mexico, Panama and the Mediterranean. The last trip several years ago was to Isreal to visit the holy lands was a lifetime dream.
She was a woman who lived a simple life reading a book with a cup of tea, studying her bible and enjoying a contentment of her life. Hazel will always be remembered for her kind and loving heart for her family, friends and her fellow man. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Hazel was a woman of strong faith, she loved her Lord, her husband, her family and her church family. She enjoyed involvement in teaching children’s sabbath school classes, serving as a deaconess, helping with women’s ministries and hosting potlucks for the
church family and visitors. Hazel loved being involved in weekly bible study groups. Hazel and John loved to travel together, both on road trips and travel abroad.
A celebration of Hazel Parrish’s life will be held on December 22nd, 2025, at 2 pm at the Calimesa Seventh-day Adventist Church 391 Myrtlewood Dr, Calimesa, CA 92320. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and thanksgiving for the gift of her life, a brief reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
