Irene "Sookie" Negrete, 61 years old of Colton, California, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at home. She was preceded in death by her brothers Tony "Penquin" Avila and Ernie Guerrero. She is survived by her loving husband, Carlos and son Damian Negrete. Also, her parents, Thomas Avila and Helen Estrada Diaz, step-mother Delfina Avila; brothers, Tom David Avila, Rudy and Jaime Guerrero, sisters, Christina Marie Romero (Tinker), Sandy Estrada, Diane Perez and Marian Rodriguez.
Sookie worked for the State of California as a Claim Specialist for over 40 years.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011, 10 a.m., at Colton Fleming Park, with a reception following at the Gents Hall.
Sookie had so many friends, she will be dearly missed, not only by her loving family, but by all those whose lives she touched..
