Jemie V. Sagulo was born on April 25, 1936 in Sudipen La Union to Ambrosio Sagulo and Catalina Visaya. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Theology at Mt. View College in 1961 and dedicated his life serving as a Pastor for the Seventh Day Adventist Institution.
He met Ester Ramirez shortly after in Cebu and married in 1963. They had three children: Shaunnie, Eddalee, and Sharlene Sagulo. He continued his ministry serving as a Pastor in Cebu, Masbate, Romblon, Bohol, Panay Island and IloIlo City.
Jemie and Ester migrated to the United States in 1998 to Houston, Texas to join Eddalee and her family. He served as part of the pastoral staff for the Houston Fil-Am SDA Church.
In 2005, he moved to Loma Linda, California and served as a member for the Loma Linda Filipino SDA Church. He spoke during Sabbath School, main service, and engaged in mid-week evening Bible Study.
Jemie is survived by his wife, Ester Sagulo and three daughters, Shaunnie Sagulo, Eddalee (Sagulo) Tolentino and Sharlene (Sagulo) Balmes. Collectively, they have multiple grandchildren residing globally around the world: Sylvister Bellosillo, Shawnee Gustilo, Sheena Desiree Bellosillo, Shiela Mae Bellosillo, Monica (Tolentino) Gianni, Johnson Tolentino, James Edward Balmes and Jessica Shayne Balmes. They have four great grandchildren: Bop Bop, Chappy, Basti, Ishi, and Aria.
Jemie Sagulo was a faithful Christian, loving husband, dedicated father, and kindhearted grandfather/great grandfather. He was slow to anger, patient, noble, and a constant student of the Bible. We cling to the promise that “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted…” (Psalm 34:18) and eagerly look forward to the resurrection morning when we are reunited as a family once again.
A viewing for Jemie will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, in the Valley View Chapel at 3520 E Washington St, Colton, CA 92324.
