Ji Hueng Kim was a modest man, quiet and observant in his ways. He was trustworthy and traditional in his approach to his life and in his relationships. He was tough-minded with the kind of “stick to it” attitude that earned the respect of all who knew him. He was also a man who was meticulous, carefully disciplined, and orderly in virtually everything he undertook. Realistic about life, he was always at the ready, prepared to take on responsibility.
Ji worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Ji was blessed with five children, two sons, Chol Jae and Kwang Jae and three daughters, Sun Hwa, Myong, Young Soo. Another blessing for Ji was the gift of four grandchildren, William, Olivia, Lisa, Christopher, James and Katelyn.
Fortunately, Ji enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Ji worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was as a mechanic for diesel engines. Ji always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Ji was an army veteran in the South Korean Army. Ji saw action for a period of time during the Korean War. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Ji enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. He loved working in his garden. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
In retirement, he found new pleasure in working in his garden and spending time with his wife. Even in retirement, Ji continued to stay in touch with his old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Ji was active in his new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered him.
