Joe was born in Pomona, California on March 18, 1933 to Gonzalo and Amalia. He spent much of his childhood in Mexicali and grew up with three brothers and six half- siblings. While living in Mexicali, Joe met the love of his life, Consuelo Angulo. They married in 1954 and began a lifelong journey together. They eventually settled in Colton, California where they raised their four children: Margaret, Yolanda, Joey, and Jimmy. Joe dedicated 30 years of service to San Bernardino County Flood Control before retiring in 1991. In retirement, Joe remained active exercising, tending to his garden and fruit trees; and spending cherished time with his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
