John Edward Rose departed this life on October 28 2015. He was born in Kansas in 1930 to Mark and Martha (Pippin). John was preceded in death by his daughter Leslie Slaughter and is survived by his daughter Lorilei Wade (Jim), son Brian (Susan), daughter Kristine Rose-Richardson, and 7 grandchildren. John retired from the San Bernardino Parks Department. He recently received his fifty year service pin from the Boy Scouts of America where he was a member of the Order of the Arrow. During his scouting career he taught archery, knife and ax, and wood badge. His favorite hobby was Dutch oven cooking. He was a long standing member of the L.D.S. church. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am at Montecito Memorial Park at 3520 E Washington St. in Colton.
