He was born to the late Roy Topete and Anna Peckinpaugh, September 10, 1971, in Lynwood, CA. John graduated from Nogales High School in 1989. He attended truck driving school and later went on to operate heavy off road equipment and then drive hazardous materials tanker trucks. Along the way, he married his beautiful wife Irma Cervantes on July 12, 1997 and raised two wonderful children, Steven and Desiree.
John also enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing, sight-seeing, trips to the river and barbequing steaks for close family and friends at gatherings. He was a huge Raider fan and loved the family dog “Roxy”, who still waits at the door for him.
John was a son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nino, cousin and friend. He is survived by his loving wife: Irma Topete; son, Steven Topete (23); daughter, Desiree Topete (16); mother, Anna Winniford; brother, Mario Topete and sister, April Topete. The rest of his close family and friends are too many to mention.
He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed dearly.
