Jonathan Kon

November 5, 1930 – June 28, 2025

Jonathan Kon, 94, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, a caring father, and a proud grandfather, remembered for his quiet strength and steady faith.

Jonathan is now reunited with his beloved wife, Saisamorn, who passed away in 2022. Married for over 60 years, they built a meaningful life in San Diego, California, raising their sons, Dennison and Kelvin, and instilling in them the values of hard work, compassion, and service.

He built a long career in healthcare finance, serving as Controller at Paradise Valley Hospital in San Diego. Later, Jonathan and Saisamorn returned to his hometown of Bangkok, Thailand, where he became President of Bangkok Adventist Hospital. Their time there was more than professional—it was a spiritual calling. As missionaries, they followed in the footsteps of Jonathan’s father, Pastor Vui Leong Kon, continuing a legacy of faith and service.

Jonathan was a lifelong learner and an avid traveler. From the streets of Bangkok to the ruins of Peru and the historic landmarks of Europe, he found joy in exploring the world with his family. In retirement, he remained active, pursuing his passions for good food and photography—often compiling and curating decades of travel memories through his lens.

Above all, Jonathan cherished time with his grandchildren—Jamie, Jason, Jonas, and A.J.—each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He will be remembered for his calm presence, deep wisdom, and unwavering commitment to faith and family. His legacy lives on through all who were blessed to know him.

A memorial service for Jonathan will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Montecito's Valley View Chapel, 3520 E Washington St, Colton, CA 92324. Following the memorial service will be a committal service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E Washington St, Colton, CA 92324.
