

Jose Luis "El Prieto" Oropeza was born on March 26, 1955 in Teocaltiche Jalisco, Mexico to Rigoberto and Maria Isabel. He was the second eldest of eight. In 1972 at the age of 17, he came to the U.S.A. to work to provide for his mother and siblings in Mexico. Upon his arrival, to his delight, he found out he had more siblings which he grew and lived along with. In March of 1976, he met his wife Anna L. Espindola at the Orange Show fair. They dated for two years, got marrried on June 24, 1978. A year later, on January 9th, 1979, a baby girl, Isabel Maria Oropeza, was born. Two years later, on December 29th, 1981, a baby boy , Jose Manuel Oropeza was born. Five years later, on June 19th, 1986, a baby girl, Joann Felicia Oropeza was born. In 1987, the Oropeza Family moved to Colton.
Jose was always a hard working husband and father. On April 16th, 1991 to July 14, 2014, he worked with Stater Brothers where he made a lot of friends who cherish and loved him like he was a brother, a father, and even as a grandfather figure.
Jose loved sports, especially Baseball, boxing, and football. His passion though, was baseball, watching and playing it.
In 2003-2013, six grandchildren were born: Adia Oropeza, Diego Oropeza, Dominick Oropeza, Carmen Sanchez, Gonzalo Oropeza, and Samuel Marquez.
Jose was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, great friend and overall, hard working man who will be missed by all.
Jose will have a visitation on Monday, September 29, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM and a Funeral Service on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM, both at Montecito Mortuary in the Valley View Chapel with burial to follow Funeral Service at Montecito Memorial Park, all in Colton, California.
