Josefa Larracas Clavecillas, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at 8:18 a.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Long Beach, California. She was born on November 12, 1936, in Ilog City, Negros Occidental, Philippines.
Josefa is lovingly survived by her four children—Ramon, Rommel, Jojean, and Raynon—and her cherished grandchildren Addy, Nepo, Joshua, and Jacob. She is also remembered fondly by her sons- and daughters-in-law Tom, MiraLee, Mary Jane (Gigi) and Jonathan Guyon Clavecillas.
In her forties, Josefa bravely migrated to the United States in pursuit of a better life for her family. Through her deep faith and connection to the Catholic Church in Los Angeles, she found an employer who not only valued her hard work but also helped sponsor her three children to come to the U.S. on student visas. Through her perseverance and dedication, Josefa and her family eventually became proud U.S. citizens.
Josefa will be remembered for her unwavering faith, boundless love, and the sacrifices she made for her family.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, Cypress Chapel, 24145 Barton Rd., Loma Linda, CA 92354.
A funeral mass service will follow on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the same location. A reception will be announced at a later date.
