I will always remember Uncle Joe and his lottery tickets, the kids would gather around and pick up all the winners that were "too little" for him to cash in. We will miss him.

I miss my Dad so much but have comfort in knowing he was a believer and is in Heaven now.
My father, Joseph Otho Ballard was born on November 14, 1942, in Bardstown, KY to Joseph Lohman and Elizabeth Elenora (Hill) Ballard. He graduated from Pacific High School in San Bernardino, CA in 1962. In 1964, he started his own business, Ballard Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning in Rialto, CA. Joe worked hard every day and provided a nice life for his family.
Years later, Joe became a general contractor and built many homes. After retiring, Joe enjoyed working on projects, riding his Harley, going on long trips in his motor home, gardening, four-wheeling and spending time in the upper peninsula of Michigan where he had a second home.
Joe made friends wherever he went. He had an infectious sense of humor and a gift of storytelling. Joe loved his life, his large family and friends. Joe will be greatly missed by so many.
Joe is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, James (Natasha) Ballard and Bryan (Danielle) Ballard; daughter, Stephanie (Todd) Hamar; his four grandchildren, Blake and Clayton Hamar, Erin Ballard and Brittany (Justin) Spencer; three great-grandchildren, Adam, Ellison and Lauren Spencer; two step-children, Holly (Jeff) Blackey and Jim Newton; two step-grandchildren, Sarah and Nicolas Blackey; two sisters, Marilyn (Billy) Cobb, Laverne (Gene) Montano; two brothers, Sherman (Joanne) Ballard, Gerald (Shirley) Ballard; and many nieces and nephews.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Yvonne (Victor) Benny, Marita (Wayland) Carter, Elaine Ballard; and brother, Joseph Lohman, Jr. (“Buck”) Ballard.

So sorry to hear of OJ's passing. I have so many fond memories of him while I was growing up along side Jimmy, Stephanie and Bryan. He introduced all of us to country music and homemade ice cream. I loved his thick accent, his wise words and his kindness and generosity. It has been many years since I have seen him, but I will never forget him! God bless his whole family.
All my love always,
