Juan (Johnny) Mora Garcia, 76, passed away on March 1, 2019 at his family home in Chino, California. Visitation/Rosary will be held at Montecito Mortuary (Valley View Chapel), 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton CA on March 12, 2017 at 4:00-8:00 pm (Rosary at 6:30pm). Dessert reception to follow.
Funeral Mass and graveside service will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace (All Souls Mausoleum), 3510 E. Washington Street, Colton CA on March 13, 2019 at 1:00-2:30 pm. Lunch reception to follow at 2:30-4:30pm.
Johnny was born in El Paso to Torivia Mora and Lorenzo R. Garcia on January 5, 1943. He served in the military in 1961 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri when he was 18 years old. Johnny married Virginia Therese (Karakey) Garcia in 1964. They purchased their first home in Compton, California and in 1972 moved to Chino Hills, California where they raised their three children. Johnny and Virginia were married for 53 years. Johnny work in logistics at Jack Jones Trucking for 39 years.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Torivia and Lorenzo.
Johnny is survived by his sister Benita Garcia Denham and brother Lorenzo Garcia Junior; daughters Rose Marie Waldron and Patricia Ann Garcia-Plotkin; son John Jude Garcia; sons-in-law Michael Waldron, and Stephen Plotkin; four grandchildren Sydney Tuck, Ryan Waldron, Zachary Waldron, Cameron Tuck; great-grandson Johnny Michael Waldron, great-granddaughter Scarlette Louise Waldron; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Johnny was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church for over 40 years. Affectionately known as “Johnny”. Devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. Johnny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, travelling, going to the beach, going to the casino, and eating good food. His favorite places to travel were Hawaii, Coronado Island in San Diego, Monterey Bay, Napa Valley and San Francisco. In 2005 Johnny and Virginia went on a trip of a lifetime, to Europe, where they went to see the Vatican, Paris, and visited their son in Milan, Italy.
