

Laural Marie McDonald passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Redlands, California after her battle with cancer finally came to an end. She was surrounded by her loving daughters and grandchildren. Laurie was born on April 1, 1961 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was the third of four children born to Clifford and Patricia McDonald. They were a military family and this had a great impact on her childhood. Laurie and her family lived in Charleston, South Carolina, Iraklion Air Force Station on the Island of Crete, San Antonio,Texas, and Karamursel Air Force Base in Turkey. After moving to Northern California for a few years her family was transferred to Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California.This then became a permanent move.
Laurie graduated from Pacific High School. After high school she went on to work as a clerk for a private company. In 1979, she married Kenneth J. Paul. Soon, two beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Jacquelyn Paul followed. Laurie then moved into the San Bernardino Court System where she worked for over 20 years until 2014. She then took an early retirement from the court which she greatly enjoyed. Laurie also volunteered with the San Bernardino County Juvenile Detention Center. She led bible study for the children for multiple years. She then moved on to her next journey working with San Bernardino City Code Enforcement where she officially retired from work in 2020.
Laurie found great happiness in her God, her faith, her family, and her friends. She was a devoted loving mother and grandmother. She loved to share inspirational books and articles. She also found fulfillment in writing poems and meditations. Laurie enjoyed traveling, especially flying to visit her daughter Jennifer in Washington.
Laurie is survived by her Mother, Patricia Wright. Two brothers, Clifford and Samuel McDonald, and her sister Theresa McDonald. Her two daughters, Jennifer and Jacquelyn Paul. Her two grandchildren, MaryJane and Mason. She is also survived by her stepfather Norman Wright, six stepsisters, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as her Aunts and Uncles from Florida to Alaska. Laurie was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
