Leticia Solis Yu was born in Bacoor, Cavite, Philippines on June 5, 1940 as Leticia Barbon Solis. She was the fourth child of eight of Angel and Liwayway Solis. She passed away in Rancho Cucamonga, CA on October 16, 2024, blessed to have lived a beautiful 84 years.
Letty came to the United States in 1969, where she lived in Los Angeles and began her career as an accountant. Early the following year, Letty was introduced to the love of her life, Edgardo Yu, a navy man stationed in Long Beach at the time. Eddie and Letty married less than a year later, and truly were each others’ whole worlds. Together, they enjoyed over 53 years of marriage… throwing big parties, traveling the world, and raising their only child.
Letty is pre-deceased by her husband, her parents, her brother-in-law Isagani Keh, and six of her siblings who all passed in their youth - Renato, Rodelio, Ernesto, Josefina, Julia, and Erlinda. She is survived by her daughter, Christina, and son-in-law, Craig Bailey, who both took care of her while she lived with them the last several months. Other survivors include her sister, Arceli Keh, and siblings-in-law Fernando (Candelaria) Yu, Edna (Arlo, Sr.) Nunez, and Leticia (Josue, Jr.) Cafuir, and many extended family members including her niece, Cynthia Keh, whose support in the last seven months in particular was immeasurable. The family is also grateful to all her caretakers who assisted with providing her everything she needed.
Letty loved cooking, cruising, and her crossword puzzles. People described her as sweet, quiet, strong, and funny, and she is dearly loved and missed by her family and friends. We know Letty is happily dancing the night away with her love, Eddie, in the gardens of heaven.
