Linda Carol Dolen

Linda Carol (Lockwood) Dolen, 79, passed away on November 24, 2025, after a brief and sudden battle with lung cancer. Born on March 9, 1946, Linda lived a life marked by love, loyalty, and a deep devotion to her family’s history and legacy.

Linda was the daughter of Jesse Harold Lockwood (1918–2005) and Katheryn Viola Cowdery (1922–1968). She was the cherished sister of David Harold Lockwood (1948–2016) and Roy Allen Lockwood (1950–1961), and the beloved half-sister of Thomas Cowdery (born 1963). As the family historian, Linda held their stories close and honored each member with great care.

Linda dedicated 30 years to the phone company, beginning with GTE and continuing through its transition to Verizon, earning the respect and friendship of many colleagues along the way.

On December 30, 1988, Linda married her soulmate, Dale Dolen, with whom she shared nearly 37 years of unwavering companionship. Dale was her dearest friend and partner in every sense. Together they made their home in several places, most notably Simi Valley, where their lives were filled with warmth, laughter, and the constant presence of the many dogs they lovingly cared for over the years.

A gifted and passionate bowler, Linda competed on a Simi Valley league, traveled annually to Las Vegas for a Presidents’ Day tournament, and proudly achieved a perfect 300 game, one of her favorite lifelong accomplishments.

Linda will be remembered for her gentle heart, her loyalty, and her devotion to preserving her family’s story. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Dale, her half-brother Thomas, extended family, and many devoted friends.
