Lorene Wheeler (Wells), Born on January 3, 1936 in the small town of Coweta, Oklahoma, to Willy and Gracie Evelyn Wheeler. She had 5 siblings; two brothers, Tillmon J. Wheeler, living in Oklahoma and Clyde H. Wheeler (aka Smokey), living in Arkansas. Proceeded in death by three sisters; Laura "Faye Bench, Dorothy Ruth Gibbs and Lora Mae Burt.
Lorene moved to California at the age of thirteen to help her sister with her children while her brother-in-law was serving in the military. She met and married a military man herself at the tender age of fourteen. She then began her world travel and instead of bringing home souvenirs, she brought back children. She gave birth in Germany, Iowa, Washington, Oklahoma and California for a total of ten children. She became a single mother and had to manage alone to provide for her family. She moved her family several times back and forth to Oklahoma and California trying to find a way to provide and to keep all of us children together. Because she married at such a young age she did not have the opportunity to return to school. She worked many jobs in her lifetime to provide food and shelter for her children. From cotton fields to waitressing, there was never a job to big or small she wouldn't do to provide for the children.
Lorene not only kept her family together, but it increased, she became the grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. All of which love and honor her very much.
Lorene never met a stranger. She never turned away anyone that needed anything. She provided food, shelter and clothing to anyone in need. Although she didn't have much, she knew what it was like to be in need.
Throughout her life it was her faith in God that got her through. She prayed with faith and knew God would provide. She taught her family the plan of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of her love for Jesus, she is now in heaven.
