

Louis Cardona was born on November 13, 1920 in Monrovia, California to Guadalupe and Luis Cardona. Louis was the 3rd of 14 children. He attended Davis School in Rocktown, Duarte. Louis then attended MAD High School (Monrovia Arcadia Duarte High School).
In 1941, Louis joined the Army Air Corps., which later became the United States Air Force. He truly enjoyed being in the Air Force and was able to travel to many places. He was stationed in Japan, Alaska, Panama, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, the state of Washington, Charleston, South Carolina, Fairfield, California and March Air Force Base in Riverside, California.
In 1949 he married Anita Velasco. They had four children: Olivia, Louie Jr., Mark and Marina. Louis also had a daughter, Lupe, from a previous marriage. Louis and Anita have eleven grandchildren.
Louis retired from the Air Force in 1963. He then went to work for the United States Postal Service in Rubidoux, California. He worked for the Post Office from 1964 until he retired in 1982.
Louis loved golf and played throughout his life. He was a member of MAGA (Mexican American Golf Association) in Riverside. When Louis was'nt’t playing golf, he was watching it on TV. He also loved horse racing and enjoyed going to Santa Anita in Arcadia.
