

Lucille was born in Spring Fork, Missouri on February 27, 1919, daughter of the late John and Flossie Maltsbarger. On December 28, 1933 Lucille married her true love, Edward West in Olathe, Kansas and they were married for 59 years until Ed passed in 1992.
Lucille was preceded in death by her two sons, John West and Elbert West, and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Wood of Yucaipa, brother Franklin Maltsbarger of Sedalia, Missouri, daughter-in-laws Shirley West of Grants Pass, Oregon and Marrietta West of Las Vegas, Nevada. Lucille also is survived by eight grandchildren, Steve West (Shirley) of Oldtown, Idaho, Barry West (Linda) of Bremerton, Washington, Gary West of Las Vegas, Nevada, Pamela Gubler (Warren) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kenny West (Lisa) of Las Vegas, John West (Sheila), Anthony West and Jeffery West all of Grants Pass, Oregon. She also has thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Lucille always loved the church, having been baptized at Temple Baptist Church, now Pathway Church, in June 1957. She enjoyed visiting newcomers and the sick. She taught primary classes in the church for 15 years, sang in the choir and was president of the Women’s Missionary Union. She met her good friends Kathy and Mark Texter and their family at the church. Lucille always said, “The place to be is church on Sunday Morning.”
The family welcomes friends to Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, California, on Monday, June 29 for a visitation at noon followed by the service at 1:00 p.m.
Lucille was a beautiful extension of the love of God. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
