Mae Belle Jones

Mae Jones was born to Marie and Walter Knight December 30, 1943 in Indianola, Mississippi. Mae attended elementary school in Indianola and moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of fourteen to live with her sister Demetris and her husband Johnny. Mae attended Brete Heart Jr. High and graduated from Dorsey High School in 1962. Also during that year, she married Robert C. Jones and had their three children during their union. Mae became an employee of Loma Linda University in 1971 where she was employed for 38 years. Mae is survived by her sisters, Demetris and Joyce and her "like sisters," Carol, Rebecca and Dorothy. Her three children, Michael, Roberta, and DeAnn; her seven grandchildren, Lillie, Avery, AuBree, Jazimin, Ashlee, Jordan, and Joseph; her great-grandchild, Terri and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Valley View Chapel at Montecito Mortuary in Colton, California. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Anthony's in San Bernardino, California with burial to follow at Montecito Memorial Park in Colton, California.
