Mr. Vasquez was born in Colton on June 17, 1920 to Sotero and Manuela Vasquez. Mr. Vasquez graduated from Colton High in 1941. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
Manuel Vasquez was a local barber in Colton and then was an aircraft mechanic at Norton Air Base for approximately 34 years. He coached Little League and men's softball teams for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Oralia; sons, Charles and Ron (Anita) and daughter, Anne (Sam); his grandchildren, Nevin, Jennifer, Timothy, Pamela, Sarah and his brother, Ramon and sisters, Guadalupe and Rachel.
Rosary will be Monday, October 1, 2012 at 9:15am with Mass at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colton, CA. Interment will follow at Hermosa Gardens Cemetery.
