Maria Magdalena Navarrete Prieto

Maria Magdalena Navarrete Prieto AKA “Nena” was born on July 22, 1948 in a small town near Parral Chihuahua, Mexico. She considered herself a “Parralense”. God called her home on September 27,2019 after a long battle of diabetes and heart complications.

Nena leaves behind her husband of 46 years Carlos Navarrete, 3 children and their families. Son,Luis C. and spouse Margarita Navarrete, Daughter, Sonia and spouse Juan Escobar, son, Jesus M. and spouse

Veronica S. Navarrete. 10 grandchildren, Luis C. Jr and girlfriend Yesenia, Ismael and Christian

Navarrete, Melissa and Nayeli Escobar, Jesus M. Jr., Eric and Vanessa Navarrete, Jose M. and Gustavo A. Quintana. 1 great granddaughter Adelina Navarrete and her great niece Isela Cubias whom she saw as her granddaughter.

Shortly after her wedding Nena moved from Parral, Chihuahua to San Bernardino, California in 1977, and this became her new home.

Nena leaves behind many more heartbroken as many will remember that her home was their first home arriving here in the United States. Her doors were always open and food was always on the table for anybody that came over. She had a heart of GOLD. Nena will also be remembered for her famous, delicious cooking! Her home was always spotless, if she wasn’t cleaning you’d find her in the kitchen cooking her delicious foods that many have always remembered. She was a very HARD-WORKING WOMAN. She worked at many places, to name a few…Paco’s Tacos on Highland, Kmart when it was on

Waterman, and last job that she loved was being a caregiver for the elderly where she worked for over 25 years. She loved taking care of her elderly clients and many of them loved her as well. Nena was a faithful and devoted Catholic and belonged to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in San Bernardino.

She is also survived by 2 sisters Maria Rodriguez and Sara Montoya, 4 brothers Jose del Rayo Prieto, Eduardo Prieto, Jesus Prieto, and Manuel Prieto. She was proceeded in death by her sister Carlota Rios Prieto, Ismael Prieto, Laurencio Prieto, Dionicio Prieto, and Baltazar Prieto.

Nena will forever be remembered and forever missed. Thank you all in advance for all of your condolences.
