Mario Soto Enriquez passed away peacefully at his home on July 23, 2016 after 98 years of a well-lived life. He was born on November 16, 1917 to Matilde Soto Sigales and Celestino Enriquez Avila in Santa Clara, Mexico. He came to the United States as a Bracero, contract laborer and married Rosa Hernandez who predeceased him in 2010. Mario was a lifelong resident of Colton, and retired from the California Portland Cement Plant after 33 years and never missed a day of work.
He is survived by daughters Evangelina Mirandé (Alfredo), Riverside, CA, Virginia Knowlton (Howard), Joshua Tree, Alice Enriquez, San Bernardino, Olivia Fredericks, (Faustino), Colton, Rosie Enriquez (John Hardeman), Sonoma, son, Albert Enriquez (Anne), Colton, Sally Gonzales, Dana Point, Lorraine Enriquez, Trail, Oregon, Sharon Campbell (David), Colton, Jackie DeAnda (Carlos), San Francisco, as well as Emma, Mario and Roberto Enriquez of Santa Clara, Mexico.
He will be missed by all who knew him and especially missed by his 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
