Marissa Rubio Camit, daughter of Delfin and Veneranda Rubio, former pageant queen, was a strong-willed and devoted mother of three, and a loving wife, who always placed family first over anything else. Born in Cagayan, Philippines in 1955, she graduated from Nursing at Mary Chiles College in 1979, where she met her inseparable life partner and husband, Amante Camit. After having their first son, Amante Lou, they both had the aspiration to chase the American Dream of raising their family in The United States.
Alongside the unwavering support of her husband, Marissa was a devout Catholic, her faith was her compass, providing her the direction and strength to thrive with her now family of five– with the addition of daughter, Marie Lou, another son, David Allan. She loved to look for every opportunity to show her family the world. As a seasoned traveller, she left her footprints across the world, and especially in our dear home, Philippines. She sought adventure and found beauty in everything wherever she was. Little pockets of that beauty she found in the world is reflected in her delicately tended garden, warm home, and fearless puppy companion, Kozie.
Marissa was the conductor of this family orchestra. The heart that pumped life into our home; She is the love and story of our lives. A pure blessing from God. In the face of any adversity, she triumphed with courage; She is our testimony of God’s grace and love. There was no challenge she could not undertake; She is our inspiration. Her child-like wonder, undying love, and unforgettable laugh will be missed. Our Mother Marissa was a classy and beautiful woman. Our angel has left marks in our world that will be forever cherished, and her spirit will carry on Everlasting.
Proverbs 31:28
“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
