Marjorie Vanita Pentoney

Marjorie Vanita Pentoney (Davis), loving wife, mother, and teacher passed away of natural causes on Monday March 23, 2020 at the age of 79. Private funeral services for the immediate family will be held in early April at Montecito Memorial Park in Colton, CA. A broader memorial service is anticipated at a future date, yet to be announced.

Marjorie and her husband of 61 years, Stephen Pentoney, first met in school at Riverside Poly High in 1954. The couple married in 1959 and raised four children including Stephen Jr., Patti, Gregory, and Ashlyn. Marjorie was a graduate of San Diego State University and a credentialed educator who enjoyed a long and meaningful professional career as a very dedicated, caring, and popular Teacher in the Downey Unified School District, Downey, CA. After retirement from teaching Marjorie and Stephen relocated from Downey to San Juan Capistrano, CA and together the high school sweetheart couple enjoyed numerous travel adventures domestic and abroad and hosted frequent holiday and birthday celebrations with their expanding family. Marjorie is survived by her husband, 3 adult children, 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a very large number of caring former students.
