Born October 31, 1977, in San Bernardino, California, to Ellen Smith and Carlton Hays, Mary
grew up with her brother Philip Gates and sisters Theresa Hays and Jeannie Alonzo.
She was a proud mother to Alexandria Huddleston and Michael Molina, mother-in-law to Victor
Huddleston and later became “Memaw” to her cherished grandchildren, Remy and Daxton
Huddleston.
Mary loved spending time with her family and friends, singing along to her favorite songs, and
sharing her love for Tim McGraw, frogs, and most of all, God.
A true warrior, Mary faced MS with incredible strength and faith. Her tattoos, “Fight Like a Girl”
and “Matthew 9:26,” reflected her strength and trust in the Lord.
On October 7, 2025, Mary went home to walk, skate, and dance with the Lord. Her liveliness,
humor, and unwavering faith will forever live on in the hearts of those who love her.
