On Monday, December 7th 2020 at 11:27 pm, Mÿ Thi Nguyen, a loving wife, incredible mother and grandmother, a loyal sister and a kind individual, passed away at the age of 59 from lung cancer. Mÿ was born on December 23, 1960 in Saigon, Vietnam. She began her life in America in 1980, where she also became an amazing wife to Binh on November 21, 1987. In 2000, they left Florida to California where they raised three of their daughters: Linh, Vi & Nhi.
Her time on earth was never taken for granted. Through many difficult challenges, like leaving Vietnam to establish her life in America independently to battling a vicious disease for the past year, she remained kind, loving and brave. She had a way of making others feel hope. The hope to help, the hope to take risks and the hope to live life. Most importantly, she had hope for growth. One of the many things Mÿ loved was gardening. She loved adding color and life to our home. She also loved to live life beautifully— through her clothing, cooking and creating; like taking pictures, making videos and dressing up.
Mÿ did not live a life full of perfection. She went through obstacles and challenges to gain great strength. She lived life through kindness and bravery. Her illness never allowed her to question her strength and ability to fight her battles. She continued to be a wife/mother, to smile, to laugh, to love and to have courage. She wore her crown and fought until the very end — so, her illness did not win. With brave our Queen Bee decided that it was time fly above us.
