

Nicolas Ibrahim Issa, 77, passed away peacefully in his home in Loma Linda, California on April 19, 2017. He was born in Al-Mazraa, Syria to Ibrahim Issa and Afifi Asfoura. He received his undergraduate degree from Middle East College and American University in Beirut and immigrated to Canada in 1968 where he met his wife of 46 years, Maxine (Schmidt) Issa. He moved to the United States in 1971 to obtain his Master’s in Business Administration from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. He worked as financial manager for Saudi Oger in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for many years before retiring in 1991, in the United States, to be near family.
He was a member of the Loma Linda University Seventh Day Adventist church. He loved all children, especially his grandchildren, caring for his backyard orchard, card games, and most of all spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his generous hospitality and unwavering devotion to his family.
He is survived by his wife Maxine, daughter Nadia (Torrey) Laack, son Ramon (Celeste) Issa and eight grandchildren, Chloe, Joshua, Kadin, Seth and Drew Issa and Xavier, Soren and Axel Laack. He was preceded in death by his brothers Tawfic, Tonious, Rafik, George, and Kamal and his sisters Reda Touma and Refka Karraz, as well as nephews Nabil Issa, Nabil Karraz, Paul Issa and niece Mona Hango-Zada.
The Interment will be near his beloved, deceased family at the Montecito Memorial Park and Cemetery in Colton, California.
