Mr. Long was one of the nicest men I ever knew. I have known him since I was a little girl and my parents were friends with Norm and Lois. I especially remember one time when I was very young. They lived a few houses away from us. My Mom took me to their house so Mr. Long could remove a bad sliver I had in my hand. My own father must have been out of town. I remember being very confident that Mr. Long would never do anything that would hurt. He was very gentle. I also remember when he was very brave to take his daughters and my sister and I on an overnight fishing trip. We were at the age of being "boy crazy" and it couldn't have been easy to keep 4 girls rounded up and under control. He was very calm, though. He was a fine man and will be very missed.

"Uncle Norm" was one of the kindest, thoughtful, peaceful human beings that I have ever known.  It did not matter how much strife I was going through, I always felt peace and love just being around this great man.  I truly loved him, his spirit, and generosity.  He will be greatly missed.
