Olivia Ann De La Garza was born December 17th, 1960. She was born to William and Molly Valencia, she was the fourth of five children. Olivia grew up in a home with strong family values, and passed those same values down to her children. Olivia had a very close network of friends, who shared the same interests and likes. She spent the majority of her youth with a strong network of neighborhood friends, and their siblings, as well as family trips to Indio, California. She was pregnant at an early age with her first son, Dustyn, and married his father. An early marriage never suited either party and they were divorced not long after. Some years would pass before she would marry again, again it was unsuccessful. She would marry again, for the last time, to Mark De La Garza. Her and Mark would go on to have four sons: Eric, Manuel, Theo, and finally Bernard. She raised her children as a single parent, never once complained, never passed the responsibility on to someone else, she welcomed assistance, but never asked. Olivia wasn’t the glue that held us together, she was more than that, she was the biggest piece of our puzzle. When the odds, and fate were stacked against her, is when she shined the brightest. Welcomed all challenges with the biggest smile, and a laughter that would light up a room. She oversaw the graduation of four of her five sons. Each passing day she dreamed about nothing more than assisting her sons in their quests for happiness, and success. Gone but far from forgotten at fifty-four, our mother leaves behind four siblings, five sons, two grandsons, and one granddaughter. Olivia will have a Memorial Service on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Montecito Mortuary in the Valley View Chapel in Colton, California at 1:00 PM.
