

Orlando (“Orlan”) Verdaguer Abuel was born on January 29, 1945 in Atimonan, Quezon, Philippines. He graduated from Centro Escolar University in Manila, Philippines in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology as well as a Bachelor of Science Pre-Med from Far Eastern University in 1965. He primarily worked as a Medical Technician at Nichols Air Base Hospital in Pasay City, Manila. He also worked as a Laboratory Technician in Coco Chemical Philippines, Inc. in Atimonan, Quezon where he met his wife, Rebecca. They were married on October 2, 1974 in Quezon City, Manila.
Orlando passed away peacefully on April 19, 2022, in Redlands, CA. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, his three daughters Aileen Sharon Abuel Santos (husband Paul), Christine Abuel Zavala (husband Arturo) and Hazel Abuel-Modoc (husband Chris) and his five grandchildren Alex, PJ, Arturo, Nicolas and Olivia.
He is also survived by his younger brother, Lt. Danilo Abuel (Retired PAF). He was preceded in death by his parents Justo and Lucia Abuel and sister Marilyn Santander. Orlando was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
A memorial service for Orlando will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3520 E Washington St, Colton, CA 92324.
