Paul was born May 14, 1949 in Boise, ID to Roy and Edna Watkins.
Paul earned a Civil Engineering Degree from Ohio State University. He served with the Shiloh missional organization for many years. For several decades he worked for a handful of various engineering firms on some high profile projects, including 15 years working as a planner and civil engineer for the city of Corona. After that he started his own business, Watkins Engineering, to develop and produce his invention, The Crack Tracker, an automated system to track and repair roadway cracks at driving speeds. Later, he started the Southern California Gate Company to design and install an innovative lift gate system.
Paul enjoyed life and many different types of activities including skiing, tennis, fishing, traveling, golf, strategy games, building things, and sharing in these activities with his family. He was dedicated to serving God through the church and serving people through a deep compassion for people in need, finding space in his home for them and ways to provide employment to them. He was known for his analytical intellect and attention to detail.
Paul was a devoted husband, a loving father, and loyal brother; survived by his wife Tita Watkins, son Nathaniel Watkins, daughter-in-law Becky Watkins, and sister Anita Dakin.
