At the young age of 22, Phoenix Josyah Johnson passed away on June 9, 2026. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Phoenix was truly larger than life. He was loyal, forgiving, understanding, strong-minded, and fearless. He lived with a passion and intensity that few possess, embracing every moment and every adventure - good or bad - that came his way.
Phoenix was never one to sit still. He always had to be doing something he loved, whether it was extreme sports, anything fast-paced, spending time with family and good friends, or chasing the next adrenaline rush.
Whether he was riding bikes, skateboarding, snowboarding, tearing it up on a dirt bike, popping wheelies on a motorcycle, or racing around in his cars, he lived every day to the fullest. He believed life was meant to be experienced and that every day should filled with memories, laughter, adventure, and a heavy hand on the throttle.
At just eight years old, Phoenix displayed an extraordinary talent for mechanics. Armed with pure determination and YouTube tutorials, young Phoenix successfully took apart and reassembled his “working” 50cc motorcycle.
If something was broken, Phoenix could usually fix it. He possessed a natural gift for understanding how things worked and found genuine joy in helping others repair or build things. His passion for cars was undeniable, especially when it came to his BMWs, particularly his 335is. Working on his car or building a new motor wasn’t just a hobby - it was where he felt most at home and where he truly flourished.
Yet beyond his talents and adventurous spirit, Phoenix’s greatest gift was who he was as a person. He had a smile that could light up any room, a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh, and a heart that welcomed people without judgment. He was the friend who showed up, the son who was deeply loved, and a young man whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Phoenix is survived by his father, Jeremy Johnson; his mother, Rebecca Johnson; his sisters, Nautica Vankat and Kasyne Johnson; his Bonus Dad, Tray; his Bonus Mom, Ebone; his grandparents; the love of his life, Emma; countless family members and a supportive community of young aspiring adults.
While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Phoenix lived boldly, loved deeply, and left this world with an unforgettable impact on everyone around him. His adventurous spirit, generous heart, infectious smile, and unwavering loyalty will continue to live on through the stories, memories, and love he leaves behind.
Forever loved.
Forever missed.
Forever our Fatboy.
Forever our Bubi.
Forever our Phoenix.
“Some people live many years without truly living. Phoenix packed a lifetime of passion, adventure, laughter, and love into just twenty-two years. His light will never fade from the hearts of those who knew him.” ❤️
